Welcome to the latest issue of French Provincial Magazine.

I have spent a lot of time in the southern town of Arles over the past 10 years, so it was great to read Keith Hall’s article on page 9 on some of the fabulous attractions you can find in this intriguing and very historical town. A visit to Arles and the surrounding Camargue region is highly recommended at anytime of the year.

Paris born Marion Cotillard was an interesting choice to play the part of Lady Macbeth in the latest screen adaptation of Shakespeare’s Macbeth. It is fascinating to learn that she always thought that she was destined to play the part at some time in her career.

Photographer Mark Brombal has kindly shared some of his beautiful images from his recent visit to Brittany and we look forward to seeing more of Mark’s beautiful photos in future issues.

The Basque region of France has always fascinated me with its culture and language proving what a diverse country France is. Marie Nicolas visits the town of Bayonne (Page 16) and provides an insight on the uniqueness and charm of the Basque culture.

I had the great pleasure to recently meet with Lynette Croft who operates women’s only tours to Provence. Her business L’Amitié Tours (See page 20) is designed to experience the beauty of Provence in the company of other like-minded women. What a great idea!

I don’t think too many people are aware of Roland Garros who the French National Tennis Centre in Paris is named after. Roger Allnutt looks at the famous French aviator who hails from the Indian Ocean island of La Réunion.

Once again, we have many articles, features and practical information on all things French in this issue. I hope you continue to enjoy French Provincial, which is Australia’s #1 magazine for French Style and Culture since 2007.

Cordialement
