First drive - Supercharged engine and new safety features aim to give SUV a boost.
THE Range Rover Sport has been given a fresh round of updates for 2017, including a new supercharged 3.0-litre V6 engine we test here for the first time.
With 335bhp and 450Nm of torque, the V6 feels as powerful as you might expect; the Range Rover Sport weighs over 2.1 tonnes, but 0-62mph takes only seven seconds and it’ll hit a top speed of 130mph.
It feels pretty brisk on the road, and higher up in the rev range it really takes off. However, the V6 isn’t the best-sounding performance engine around, and it just doesn’t feel like the right engine for this car.
