WE SAY: Mercedes gives the c the Most significant update until date. There’s Much More to it than just a cosmetic job
Until 2014, the C-Class would only appeal to those who love to drive themselves. It wasn’t really for the chauffeur driven market, with a rear seat that wasn’t the most spacious of the lot. But in 2014, Mercedes went all guns blazing and brought out a completely redone C-Class. It looked like a baby S-Class and also had a cabin that’ll remind you of the S. The C-Class tried to offer the best of both worlds – an enthusiastic drive and a comfy rear-seat ride. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite get the math right in offering the best in either of the two things.
Four years later, the C-Class has got the most significant update. The overall silhouette has remained untouched, but there are updates to the face that won’t require a magnifying glass to spot. For starters, the grille has been reworked and you get a choice of three sorts of grille designs. The bumper, too, has been redesigned to allow better air flow. The headlamps have gone under the knife as well and they look a bit more modern than the ones they replace. That’s about it with major changes to the external design.
