A really cool Super Gas effort from Idaho comes courtesy of Gene Brown.
Running primarily in the Super Gas class (9.90), Gene has been campaigning his 1962 Chevy Nova since 2013. The car was expertly built by reputed Tom Yancer (Phoenix) and is considered a threat at every race it attends, as evidenced by a strong Sixth-place finish in the final 2016 NHRA Division 6 points standings. Gene runs a 618ci Steve Schmidt-built big-block. His car’s drivetrain also includes an FTI transmission, Continental converter, and Strange rearend with 4.29 gears. The Nova features a chrome-moly tube chassis and a mostly original body; the only exceptions being the fiberglass front end and rear decklid. Tipping the scales at 2,600 pounds, this is a family oriented race team that includes Linda Brown, Jacob Brown, as well as Mackenzie and Sam Plowman.
