Virat Kohli - King Of The Game
Entrepreneur magazine|October 2019
A cricketer par excellence, health icon, style idol and a hero to millions in a nation obsessed with cricket, India cricket team captain Virat Kohli is a legend in the making who will have broken many a long-standing records before he hangs up his boots. However, that is many light years away.
Virat Kohli - King Of The Game

Virat Kohli was nothing like one would imagine from seeing him demolish the best pacers in the world, or endorse clothing brands that are beamed into your homes.

Loose track pants, a plain tee, flip-flops and a cap and a gentle demeanour — that was Virat Kohli up close.

From being a scruffy boy surfacing from the back lanes of Delhi, to making India proud by leading the U-19 team to World Cup heroics, to becoming one of the greatest players to ever play cricket; and that too with such effortless style, Virat Kohli has become more than a pinup boy.

FITNESS FIRST

It’s years of preparation, unparalleled discipline and single-point focus behind a world-class athlete. And Kohli’s fitness regime is just as insane, if not more! “I do a lot of power-lifting, snatches, lifts and squats. I do keep a sharp eye on activating the right muscles and getting the form right,” he said.

Virat trains a lot in HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) because running between the wickets and springing in any direction on the field calls for just that.

But keeping the body supple enough to face each ball with 100 per cent commitment and near-zero response time–how does one of the best batsmen in the world do that? “Mobility sessions and in-water stretching and movements help a lot with that.”
