Your views on a report that domestic LED manufacturing may reach 3.6 billion USD by 2020.
There has been tremendous growth in the LED category in India over the last two years and this is expected to continue in future as well. The increased focus on energy savings, higher consumer awareness about LEDs and its enhanced lighting output are some factors that have contributed to this huge growth. The Indian government is also enhancing LEDification in the country through increased investments in energy efficient lighting systems and through its UJALA programme. Additionally, the emergence of Smart Cities, Smart Offices and Smart Homes have accelerated the adoption of LEDs as they can be connected and controlled wirelessly. Keeping in mind this huge demand for LED’s in both personal and professional segments, we are confident that domestic LED manufacturing will also significantly increase in the coming years.
