Exploring Anushka: Loud & Ready!
Maxim India|March 2016

Music. Motion. Madness. The full extent of this woman’s creativity hasn’t yet been explored. We try.

Exploring Anushka: Loud & Ready!

Anushka, great to have you in Maxim. This is, in fact, your Maxim debut. How was the experience?

It was amazing and a lot of fun. I was really excited that everyone at Maxim was really open to doing something so cool and exciting. Because a lot of the times magazines are extremely set in their ways and they don’t want to move away from the conventional. It’s exciting to be able to do something different. I really liked it because I was able to be myself.

Maxim is all about the freedom of choice, and we try to bring out the personality of the woman.

Yes, I saw that at the shoot. You guys are open-minded, discussing what we can do and then doing it.

We believe in letting our Covergirl be her true self. Now, you’ve captured airwaves, you’ve done TV, road shows and a whole mess of work. What’s the activity closest to your heart?

I love being on the stage. And I enjoy shooting. It was an incredible experience shooting for Angry Indian Goddesses. It was a different level of involvement. But I love music and on my off days I want to work on my music. For me, that’s the most exciting thing. Hearing something and watching it come together. It’s feels like I’m creating something and that’s really wow!

That’s pretty incredible, because your music is not specific to any genre. The origin was pop and you’ve grown from there. How do you relate to your music now vis-à-vis the Viva days?
