Ellen DeGeneres couldn’t have anticipated a moment quite like this. Kelly Clarkson’s daytime talk show has become a bona fide hit, watched in roughly 1.9 million households an episode in the US and outranking veteran series like The Dr Oz Show and Rachael Ray Show, as well as beating out fellow newcomer Tamron Hall.

“Ellen is happy for Kelly,” spills a source close to the 62-year-old comedian. “But she’s also a little jealous of just how quickly Kelly’s taken over as the fresh, new face of daytime television.”

Premiering last September, The Kelly Clarkson Show became the highest-rated syndicated talk show to debut in the States since Katie Couric took a stab at it in 2012.
