Sleep, running, portion control and more – clued-up celebs spill on all the ways they stay in a-list shape
1. Control your portions. ‘I try to eat offa smaller plate,’ says Anna Heinrich, 33. ‘So if you’re going back for seconds, it’s probably like just having the meal I would have had on a larger plate.’
2. Keep a journal. ‘When you jot things down, you an really see what’s going n,’ says Kate Hudson, 40. hat are you eating? What are your food patterns? You can get clued into [those] things.’
3. Walk like a platypus! (Squatting and walking the same time.) ‘[It’s] the kest, most effective workou our butt,’ says David Kirsch o trains Jennifer Lopez, 50. t works ‘the inner thighs,and lifts and tones the butt’.
4. Grow your own food! Nicole Richie, 37, is a big liever in home-grown ve ’m very conscious of what my family eats,’ she says ‘We grow kale, spinach, broccoli… and our own herbs.’
5. ‘HIIT’ it hard! ‘I pretty much only do high-intensity xercise,’ tells Erin McNaught, 37. ‘Some days I do HIIT for 20 minutes, on others I’ll still do high-intensity workouts, but with longer breaks.’
6. Drink vinegar! ‘I have one tablespoon of organic apple cider vinegar mixed into a glass of water,’ says Kourtney Kardashian, 40 (left). The star reckons it increases her metabolism and accelerates fat loss.
7. Keep an eye on your heart rate. ‘Monitoring your heart helps you train smarter, not harder,’ according to Michelle Lovitt, who works with Courteney Cox, 55. ‘And using the tool will help you check in with your body so you know if you’re putting in the right amount of effort.’
