I Believe I Am A 'Savvy' Woman Because... "I am Strong Confident and focused." - Disha Patani
BAREILLY KI RANI
I had a fabulous upbringing. I was born in Uttarakhand but I grew up in different cities thanks to by dad’s job as an Assistant Commissioner of Police. We had the opportunity to travel and experience different places in India and their varied cultures. The longest we stayed in one place was Bareilly. My mom, who is a supervisor in the State Health Department, and my elder sister make up the rest of my immediate family.
Our parents have always taught us sisters to be strong and independent, ever since we were children. Their motivation has helped me make all the decisions I have till date and has made me what I am today. There was a time when I wanted to give up because the struggle to make it in the film industry became too much, but it was my family who motivated me to follow my dreams. They have always stood by me and helped me translate my dreams into reality.
SPORTY & STUDIOUS
I was a complete tomboy when I was young. Till the 9th grade, I used to sport a boy cut and dress like a boy. I was also an introvert and never had any friends. My school days were fun but I think half my childhood went without talking to anyone. I used to just be in my own space. In fact, I started opening up only after the 9th grade. But I made really good friends after that and I’m still in touch with them.
