Reaf Firm your Bond
Savvy|September 2016

Racy, sexy or just adventurous, Salome Mitter has the answers to all your questions on sex.

Reaf Firm your Bond

I have always been adventurous in bed and fantasised about various things, including having a threesome. What is the best way to convince my husband to comply? Also, are there any precautions needed before indulging in such an act?

Manali Mehta, Mumbai

Though a threesome is presumed to be a great way of spicing up a relationship, the reality can be hugely different. A ménage à trois, as it’s referred to, will not help fix any existing issues in your relationship. Fact is, it could cause more harm especially if your partner is the jealous kind. There is a theory that in most threesomes, all parties never truly agree; one person is always coerced into it by another. So I first suggest that the experience be consensual for your husband as well. If you do manage to win him over, he should be equally involved in the process right from selecting the third person, to setting up rules and boundaries. This will make him feel that both of you are a part of this shared experience, and could help increase communication and intimacy.
