In less than a year, Meghan Markle’s fairytale of being the newest royal of England seems to have spurned into hostile narrative full of controversies. Aditi Kane reports...
When Meghan Markle walked down the aisle in her elegant Givenchy gown on May 19, 2018 , the stars in her eyes were palpable. Anyone could tell that here was a fairytale come true as the small-time struggling actress and one time divorcee found her love and prince - the reallife royal and most coveted bachelor of England, Prince Harry. T’was stuff dreams are made of!
More great news followed as just a few months down the line, on October 15, 2018 to be precise, the Palace made a formal announcement. The Duchess of Sussex was pregnant and Meghan and Harry were soon to become parents! Life apparently couldn’t be happier for the two, especially for Meghan, who told the press before she married that her cup ‘overfloweth’ with joy.
And yet, if recent tabloids are anything to go by, Meghan is far from blissful. Reports state that she’s instead feeling ‘isolated and unsafe’ and is riddled with stress. In just a few months from her wedding, Meghan’s fairytale seems to have hit a darker chapter... Let’s see what’s vexing the Duchess of Sussex in her newfound role…
A DISTANCED DAD!
Meg’s pain began right at the wedding with her estrangement from her dad, who she always spoke of very fondly. Thomas Markle was elated that his little princess was “going to marry a real prince” and was all set to give Meghan away on her D-day. However, things suddenly took a u-turn when Markle Sr sold staged pictures of himself prepping for the wedding to the paps, a fact that didn’t go down well with the Windsors and caused quite an embarrassment to Meghan. She promptly announced that her father would ‘sadly’ not be attending our wedding due to a ‘heart surgery’. “I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health,” she tweeted.
