SKIN SHINE
Winters are a relief in a hot country like India, but the cold weather and decreased humidity makes the skin dry and prone to redness, flakiness, chapping and itching. The reason for this is decreased moisture in the skin. There can be an exacerbation in conditions like eczema, psoriasis, acne etc.
To combat these issues during winter, follow these pointers…
— Lukewarm Baths: Long, hot water showers/ baths sound tempting in winter but must be avoided because they strip your body of natural oils. This then leads to drying of skin. A hydrating cleanser for bathing helps in curbing dryness. A non-soap formula is preferable. A SLES/ SLS-free formula doesn’t dry your skin out. Rubbing your skin with a towel after bathing should be avoided; instead, only dab it.
