After 13 years in the chair co-hosting The Project, nobody could argue that Carrie Bickmore doesn’t deserve to take a break.

So that’s exactly what the 41-year-old is doing, packing up the family for a three-month holiday in the UK starting in April. But before she’s even left the country, speculation is mounting that the sabbatical might turn into something more permanent for the star.

Bickmore, who has been with the Network Ten show since the first episode, told viewers about her “personal news” last week, describing it as a “family adventure” with her partner, TV producer Chris Walker, and kids Oliver, 14, Evie, 7, and Adelaide, 3.

“We’ve been wanting to do it for a while but for lots of reasons, timing hasn’t been right, but we figure it’s never going to be the perfect time to go and it’s something we really want to do before my son [Ollie] starts his final years at school so we’re doing Term 2 in the UK.”
