For decades, Jennifer F Aniston has stayed in absolutely incredible shape, thanks to an ongoing commitment to making extremely healthy choices. From the moment she wakes up in the modern Bel-Air mansion she's called home since 2011, the star, 53, starts her day by taking care of herself, kicking off her morning right with a protein-rich breakfast.
"I have warm lemon water and then I have a shake or avocado and eggs, which is one of my favourites," she has shared, once boasting that during the pandemic, she learned to cook eggs "every which way".
Sometimes to give her porridge a protein boost, the star employs a trick she learned from ex-husband Justin Theroux, 50, who she was married to from 2015 until 2017. "Right before the oatmeal is finished cooking, you just whip in an egg white," she spills. "It kind of gives this fluffy texture that's delicious."
While she has the morning routine nailed, actually getting a good night's sleep is a challenge for Aniston, who for years has suffered from issues ranging from insomnia to sleepwalking to sleep anxiety. "I think it started somewhere in my 30s or even earlier, but you just don't start to notice the effects of a lack of sleep when we're younger because we're so invincible," the actress recently told People magazine. "It became something that I really was struggling with. It used to be the last thing on the list, but you can't really abide by the three pillars of health - which are diet, exercise, and sleep - if you can't really exercise and you can't really eat right if you haven't slept well because your body clock is so completely thrown off." With help from a doctor and evening rituals like yoga, stretching and tech-free time before bed, she's managed to improve her sleep and these days now wakes up fresh and ready to tackle the day.
