Selena Gomez isn’t one for splashy celebrations. Before her new hulu show Only Murders in the Building premiered on August 31 – on its way to becoming the streamer’s mostwatched comedy series debut ever – she decided to keep things low-key. “I’m having a little screening tonight with my friends. We’re just going to order pizza and be casual,” Gomez, 29, who executive-produced the show with her co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short, told WHO’s sister publication People.
Still, Gomez, who last acted on TV on Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place in 2013, understood the magnitude of the moment. “My friends sent me a picture that we got 100 per cent on [aggregate reviews site] Rotten Tomatoes today, and I freaked out,” she says. “I’m just so grateful.”
Did you hit it off right away with Steve Martin and Martin Short? They’ve said you taught them “young people” things.
