Idealistic visions of the future and rediscovered treasures from the past fuel another amazing TYPO Berlin

The Best Type of Design

Held in the awe-inspiring 1980s Berlin House of World Cultures since the mid-1990s, TYPO Berlin has a rich history of taking the pulse of contemporary design and typography and predicting trends.

This year was no different, with talks from established designers, academics and rising stars effortlessly meshing with hands-on workshops and practical typography sessions.

The schedule saw the return of 2017’s Brand Talks – a programme of high-profile studios deconstructing successful branding campaigns, which included the stunning work of Superunion’s London Symphony Orchestra, including (amazing) ideas that ended up not making the cut.

This year debuted Talent Talks, a platform for ‘fearsome’ young creatives from Europe and the US. Featuring eight creatives, including Specht Studio and Sarmishta Pantham, each were given 30 minutes to share their work process and success stories.
