Back in pre-digital days we would dust off our analogue film camera on special occasions, such as weddings or holidays.

The handful of photos we captured might lie in an envelope, with the best shots being mounted into an album for a few visitors to view.

These days, we live in more exciting times when it comes to photography. Thanks to our iPhone, we may snapshots on a daily basis, from pet portraits to superb sunsets. Our favourite images can be shared instantly with thousands of people thanks to social media platforms, such as Twitter and Instagram. Indeed, a need to feed these social media outlets may motivate us to take more pics. However, to impress friends, family and followers, we need to tweak our pictures’ colours, tones and composition to make them look their best.

Shooting so many stills (and clips) can lead to challenges. In this feature, you’ll learn how to import and store shots safely, find specific photos more quickly, edit your pictures to perfection, and share them via print or web for others to enjoy. Our importing and editing tips will also be relevant if you shoot on a digital SLR or compact camera.
