The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 are the most powerful chipsets, offering slight improvements to the CPU and the graphics processor.
These chipsets are used in the most recent flagship devices and are among the top Android options in 2022. As such, I've compiled a list of the top smartphones powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor.
Do You Really Need A Phone With Snapdragon 8 Gen 1?
After upgrading to the newest flagship chipset, most consumers will only notice a little difference in their smartphone experience. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 family may be overkill for most jobs if you're a casual user who only uses your phone for surfing the web, looking through social media, and playing the odd game.
Devices like the Pixel 5a deliver a fantastic all-around experience that arguably rivals the most expensive flagships. This suggests that a mid-range chipset like the Snapdragon 765G may better suit more fundamental daily chores.
Of course, if you're a power user, you're probably looking at the current flagship phones, which all include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU family. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipsets are used in some of the highest-end smartphones running the Android operating system.
As a result, these phones often offer the most incredible displays, cameras, and customization options. Those constantly switching between tasks, playing demanding games, or just wanting the best possible experience should bear this in mind.
Also, Qualcomm introduced the significantly improved Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 in the middle of the year. It's stated that the CPU and GPU clock rates will increase by 10%, and efficiency will increase by 30%. Not many phones use it yet, but apart from that, it's the same as the regular Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
