Devika Malik - A Para-Athlete, An Entrepreneur And An Advocate For Disability

Twenty-eight-year-old Devika Malik has always worked hard for what she wanted, no matter if the odds were in her favour or not. Born premature with acute neonatal jaundice to paraolympian Padma Shri Deepa Malik and Kargil veteran Colonel Bikram Singh, Malik’s development was slower than normal. Tragedy struck yet again when, as a toddler who had only just begun walking, she wandered into the street and was hit by a motorcycle, owing to which she grew up with the left side of her body paralysed—hemiplegia.
