Influential beauty blogger Ankita Srivastava swears by natural ingredients in products and home remedies. She shares her top five home cures for common hair and skin concerns.

1 Tame dry, frizzy hair
My hair has always been very thick, dry and frizzy, so I’m always looking for nourishing hair masks. Banana contains potassium as well as vitamin C and B6 that help add shine and repair damage. Honey, being a humectant, moisturises hair and also adds shine. Coconut oil is great for hair as its linear chain molecular structure helps it penetrate deep into the shaft and deliver essential nourishment and repair damage. Blend all the ingredients together in a food processor to make it easier to use—mashed banana by itself has a tendency to stick to the hair and can be difficult to rinse out. I like to keep this on for at least 30 minutes before washing off with a mild shampoo.
2 Soothe flaky, rough skin
