What’s not to love about sparks flying in the bedroom? However, going with only a few tried and tested positions, sex could get monotonous. If you are looking to spice things up, take cue from these new avatars, which will not only make your romps thrilling, but also make you more adventurous between the sheets.

WHAT: THE VICTORY

DIFFICULTY LEVEL: HIGH

Lie down on your back, raise your legs, and let your partner kneel down in front of you. Then, he spreads your legs apart in a wide V (hence the name victory), and penetrates while kneeling. “This posture is especially great for women, since it stimulates the G-spot and clitoris. Not only will it give him maximum pleasure since the penetration is deeper, it maximises your pleasure as well,” says Dr Jayanti Kabir, a Kochi-based gynaecologist and fertility expert.

WHAT: THE MAGIC MOUNTAINa

DIFFICULTY LEVEL: MODERATE

As the name suggests, this position involves you and your partner sitting facing each other, with legs bent upwards to resemble a mountain. The knees become the peaks. Then, move slowly towards each other until you are able to make contact, and can have sex easily. You may need to place your palms on your sides for better support. Janhavi K Sriram*, a 23-year-old software coder from Bangalore says, “I tried this out with my boyfriend, and it was great fun. It gave us equal leverage and control, and we could also observe the act of having sex, which can be a real turn-on.”

WHAT: SIDE-BY-SIDE

DIFFICULTY LEVEL: EASY
