Ross is boss as Chloe teams up with a sadistic sidekick
Nadine Ross is a brutal badass. Nate and Sam learned not to make the merc cranky the hard way in Uncharted 4… pity they never gave a heads-up to the schmucks at the start of The Lost Legacy’s latest in-game demo. No sooner does Chloe suggest she “take left” if her uneasy ally “takes right” than the South African soldier clinically dispatches two guards, breaking one’s neck and kicking the other off a cliff. Ms Ross sure ain’t Sully.
This ambitious Uncharted expansion may do a more sociopathic line in AI sidekicks than Nathan Drake’s adventures, but elsewhere it looks very much like business as usual. Of course, when said trade garners your series three consecutive 10/10 reviews in OPM, it’s probably wise Naughty Dog isn’t overly messing with the tried-and-tested (and brilliant) formula.
Beautifully animated rope-swinging; plummy mid-combat banter; tagging enemies before popping a round in their skulls; yanking dudes off ledges; fleeing a homicidally committed ATV. The series may have swapped sarky Madagascan murder sprees for shootouts in verdant Indian sinkholes, but this is still very much Uncharted 4’s twin. Albeit a slightly malicious one you lock up in the attic and never speak of at family gatherings.
