After a 13-year break one of SA’s greatest rock bands, the legendary Springbok Nude Girls, is back with a brand-new album, Partypocalypse.
The band needs little introduction, having been around for the past three decades during which they’ve released 11 albums; enjoyed huge success locally and abroad; and given us such timeless hits as Bubblegum on My Boots, Genie and Little.
We caught up with Theo Crous, the band’s lead guitarist who now runs his own music studio in Cape Town, to find out more about the comeback that has fans frothing at the mouth and getting their mosh boots on.
Your last album was 13 years ago! What made you decide to make another one – and was it an easy decision?
So easy! We were on tour in SA in 2019 [after the release of their singles Best Friends, Best Enemies and Beautiful Evolution] and we had some time off, so we decided to record. Half our members are staying outside of SA, so we thought we should make use of the time we had together to record.
