Q/ As an actor, who do you look up to and what’s so amazing about them?

A/ Joaquin Phoenix is honest, raw, present, unfiltered, calls out the BS…I can relate to that. I could say the same thing about Tom Hardy. Javier Bardem has the ability to create characters that are so multi-dimensional you couldn’t imagine them being real, yet, you believe him.

I’ve always been a fan of Will Smith. Beyond his talents as an actor and a filmmaker, he’s a good example of a human being. Tom Cruise He can’t be real, man. Is he real? Phenomenal actor. He develops projects that are huge but have a grounded honesty to them. He’s a lot of fun to watch.

Britt Marling is a brilliant actor and writer. She’s not afraid to do something different and we need different. She and her producing partner, Zal Batmanglij, have created their own path. Judson Vaughn was my very first acting teacher and an actor and filmmaker himself. His work is so memorable. He helped me, and many others, build the foundation in the film and acting business. I’m going to pull him out of retirement someday and put him in a movie!
