2023 Jewellery Trend Forecast - What's It Going To Be?

The past couple of years have been tough for everyone in view of the pandemic; now that COVID has abated considerably, people are looking forward to dressing up and accessorizing their outfits with glamorous jewellery. Here are the trends that are expected to rule in 2023.

Natural and Celestial

Zodiac-themed jewellery is one big trend that industry players expect to play out in 2023. Says Alisa Bunger, Vice-President, US Sales & Operations, Chic Pistachio, based out of Texas, US, "Motifs of the sun and moon, and zodiac-inspired designs are becoming more popular. Moon symbols and evileye protection charms on permanent bracelets have been especially popular.

Floral motifs, mushrooms, and even snails, will make an appearance in 2023 mood boards and jewellery creations." Speaking on the rising demand for designs focussed on the natural world, Anthony Hopenhajm, President, Seaman Schepps, New York, observes, "We are seeing and anticipating easy, soft organic shapes inspired by natural forms, such as leaves, shells, and trees."

Yellow Gold

"There is a clear resurgence of yellow gold that remains strong," says Maria Carola Picchiotti Marketing Director, PICCHIOTTI, based out of Valenza, Italy. The classic style of yellow gold is becoming popular again, as it allows a contrast that gives an elegant look and highlights the gemstones set with it. "Yellow gold is definitely making a comeback, especially in higher karats due to the richer colour," chimes in Chris Ploof, Founder of Chris Ploof Designs, who is based out of Massachusetts, and who specialises in hand-forged jewellery made with alternative metals.
