Having one (or a few) good ambassador serves as a powerful tool to up your brand and product awareness. These watch brands would know.
TUDOR X DAVID BECKHAM
To understand the appointment of Tudor’s “Born to Dare” ambassadors, we have to first understand the campaign. As the brand statement describes, “[The Born to Dare campaign] reflects both the history of the brand and what it stands for today. It tells the adventures of individuals, usually anonymous, who have achieved the extraordinary on land, on ice, in the air or underwater, with a Tudor watch on their wrists. It also refers to the vision of Hans Wilsdorf, the founder of Tudor, who manufactured Tudor watches to withstand the most extreme conditions of the most daring lifestyles. Finally, it is testimony to Tudor’s pioneering approach to watchmaking, which helped to make it what it is today.” And David Beckham ticked all the boxes.
When Tudor chose Beckham last year, it expressed that it was because of his diverse range of abilities and achievements on, as well as off, the soccer field, where he dedicated himself to philanthropic endeavours. “I was attracted to Tudor by the attention to detail I could see in their watches. I then learned about the history of the brand. One of adventure, pioneer diving, and daring expeditions. I was instantly hooked,” he said when he got onboard with the brand. Lensed by renowned British fashion photographer David Sims, the two new images of Beckham see him donning on the Black Bay Bronze in one and the Black Bay Fifty-Eight in the other, and amongst them is a series of intimate videos where Beckham talks about time spent with his grandfather, time on the pitch as captain for England and his first Tudor watch.
