All about Black Box

Let the mystery unfold in this article and the unknown make way to the known. If you want to know why a million-dollar aeroplane crashed, then you need to retrieve the Black Box. Since the 1950s, many aviation crashes have been solved using a black box, and many advances and improvements were used for aviation safety. It has become an essential device ever in aviation history that all commercial aeroplane must be equipped with the Black Box with proper maintenance from time to time.

Invention Fact

Australian Scientist David Warren was the first to build a Black Box prototype in 1958.

History,

Date back in the early 1940s, following a plane crash, investigators were unable to arrive a definitive cause for the accidents, and many were still unsolved. During early aviation days, when there were many plane crash, investigators were using eye witness to conclude which was not helping in finding the cause. Since then many countries, including France, Spain, United Kingdom, were researching and made many prototypes used in world war two fighter planes. Starting from a device that takes automatic photographs inside the cockpit to recording many aeroplane instruments and the pilot’s movements. Since then, various devices were used and made many improvements, but today’s Black Box is much more advanced than any devices used earlier.

Pilots must check the serviceability of the Black Box before each flight as per regulations.
