COMBAT Dragonfly

The Cessna A-37A Dragonfly, also known as the Super Tweet, was a light attack aircraft developed from the T-37 training aircraft to aircraft role due to AT fill the counter-insurgency 1 Skyraider losses. The A-37 saw its first major operation during the Combat Dragon evaluation programme in Vietnam in 1967, performing roles such as close air support and helicopter escort. The 'A' variant of the Dragonfly was armed with a Minigun in the nose and four hardpoints on each wing, which could hold a multitude of weaponry, including M117 bombs, Mk 81 bombs, LAU-3 rocket pods, SUU-14A cluster bomb dispensers, SUU-11 Minigun pods, and fuel tanks of varying capacities.

This 2014 tooling in 1/48 scale was the initial release from Trumpeter featuring six sprues (two of which being for wing-mounted armament alone), a sheet of photoetch, and two small sheets of decals. The surface detail featured recessed panel lines and nicely moulded riveting. The decals supplied only allowed a prototype aircraft, 67-14510, to be built, though this particular aircraft still exists and is airworthy in the United States with the civilian registration N370ML.
