Life with type 1 diabetes makes you feel like you are constantly chasing highs and lows; it’s similar to living on a roller coaster. But with lifestyle changes and plant based diet, it’s always possible to control blood sugar and live a healthy life. Jaipur native Dushyant knows the ups and downs of living with type 1 diabetes. He shares his story:
“I was only three years old when I was first diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Today at 27, I am a model and I try to manage my health with a plant based, vegan diet to live an active life. I engage in all physical activities such as working out at the gym, without worrying about my sugar levels. However, it wasn’t always the case. I had to overcome many difficulties along the way, especially during early years.
I started displaying the classic warning signs of diabetes such as feeling tired, irritable, and constantly hungry. Moreover, I was thirsty all the time and urinating frequently.
