WHAT IF YOU COULD HEAL YOURSELF BY TEACHING YOUR BRAIN TO VIEW YOUR CONDITION DIFFERENTLY? WE LOOK AT A TECHNIQUE CALLED THE ‘LIGHTNING PROCESS’ WHICH CLAIMS TO DO JUST THAT

Monique Mckenzie
Think Again

Not to be confused with stormy weather, the Lightning Process is a natural, self-healing technique which aims to use the mind-body connection to help with syndromes such as chronic fatigue and anxiety. And all this through one-minute exercises.

What the LP is

The LP was developed by British osteopath Phil Parker to help those suffering from chronic ailments to regain control over their mind. The technique focuses on the way the brain and body interact, and draws on neurolinguistic programming, life coaching, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and osteopathy. LP operates on the belief that issues like pain, headaches, or gut problems are not physical but emotional or neurological. Drawing on the relatively new idea of ‘neuroplasticity’, LP considers the mind is like a computer that can be programmed to work a certain way, and that we can learn how to rewire our brains into healthy neurological pathways.
