Gestational hypertension is having hypertension in pregnancy. Hypertension is a condition in which the force of the blood against the artery walls is too high. Blood pressure is expressed by two measures the systolic and diastolic pressure which are the maximum and minimum pressure .Normal blood pressure at rest is within the range of 100-140 millimeters Systolic and 60 -90 Diastolic .Physicians call BP high when resting BP is persistent or above 140/90mmHg.High BP is a condition in which the long term force of the flowing blood against the artery is so high that it can eventually cause health problems. BP is determined by the amount of blood your heart pumps and amount of resistance to blood flow in your arteries when more blood is pumped in the heart and if the arteries are narrow then BP rises. High BP develops over a period of time and initially may not show any symptoms at all. But if the condition continues there will be a risk of serious health problems including heart attack .As it is easy to detect high BP with a BP instrument you can work with your doctor to control it.
