Saina Nehwal needs no introduction. She is a professional badminton singles player. She has, so far, won over twenty-three international titles, which also includes ten Superseries titles. That she reached the world # 2 ranking in 2009 is passé, because it was only in 2015 that she was able to attain the world # 1 ranking, and become the only woman player from India and overall the second ever — after Prakash Padukone — to achieve the feat. She has represented India three times in the Olympics, winning the bronze in her second appearance.
Saina is, doubtless, badminton’s SteffiGraf. She trains six days a week — she says there can be no compromise on her fitness routine. She goes through her rigorous workout programme, with a rare flair and flourish.
