STAR LETTER
VILLAGE LIFE
My daughter-in-law saw a knitted village online. I got very excited and my grandchildren (aged five and six) did too! From this pattern I put my own ideas into action. My husband did the architectural work with foam board for the building frames. Then I covered them with knitting - the roofs come off for extra fun! The base is plywood covered with matting, but I put the school on a blackboard so I could chalk some playground games. It's difficult to say how long it took me as I was knitting other things at the same time. I have knitted houses before but the pleasure this village has given the girls is so humbling.
