‘I was living with my parents back home in Ireland and Corentin grew up not far from here in a converted mill house,’ says Liz.
With large expressive skies and tall grasses dancing in the breeze, there’s a lot to fall in love with in this small hamlet in Brittany, northwestern France. ‘The landscape is very similar to where I grew up in Ireland,’ says Liz Lamour, who met her husband Corentin while she was working at his family’s nearby restaurant as a 19-year-old. Back then, the farm and all the barns and cottages in the hamlet belonged to Corentin’s grandparents, Louise and Isidore. ‘This cottage used to be their home,’ says Liz. ‘They had built it themselves from stone brought in from the fields, so it has an incredibly rustic feel.’
