Inside, white-on-white surfaces intermingle with textural elements in furniture and finishes, and decadent brass surprises in small custom moments throughout the home have created a luxury feel in what is a relaxed, restrained interior.
This spectacular residence is home to Florence and her husband – both in their seventies – and a frequent stopover for adult children and grandchildren. Florence worked closely with boutique design-build studio Bacic Group to bring her 50-year vision to life.
“Florence was in Greece during the one-year planning and design phase, but sent lots of holiday snaps back to us,” says Elvira Nuic of Bacic Group. “We took some of our inspiration from those photos, in particular the spacious terraces, the curves and the contrast of the crisp white architecture against the deep blue water. We also loved the unexpected moments around each corner and that’s something we’ve embraced with our design.”
The couple had searched for many years before finally securing the perfect block in 2014. A former riverbank, it would be a challenging site to build on, but the opportunity for a river outlook from every angle was always going to be worth it.
