There’s something truly magical about Walker Farm – from the blissful silence to the way the home and landscape seem to borrow from each other, creating a seamless connection between indoors and out. Set on a 16-hectare cattle farm in Myocum, you’d never guess you’re 10 minutes’ drive from bustling Byron Bay.

This little slice of paradise is home to Tim Mundy, his daughter Cleo, 11, son Will, nine, and their dog Biscuit. And it’s a dream that was several years in the making. “I bought the land in 2017, with the intention of making our home here,” says Tim. “I spent those years moving to and from a caravan on site and rentals in Byron Bay while I scraped together the money to make it happen.”

His vision was clear: “I wanted a barn-style home full of windows so I could open or close spaces depending on the weather, with separation between the living and bedroom areas. Living on site in the caravan gave me a good idea of the aspects, prevailing breezes and what would fit best.”
