The owners of this renovated cottage have extended and reconfigured throughout to create a stylish and practical layout for their growing family
'The house was originally a small cottage that we extended fifteen years ago. At that time, we had no kids so decided to rent the original house while living in the extension. Over the years and now four kids later, we needed the space so decided it was time to move back in, open up the original cottage to the extension and renovate throughout to make it suit our growing family’s needs.’
What had been the sitting room in the extension has now been transformed into a fabulous open plan kitchen with space for a dining and sitting area. ‘Although the sitting room was a good size, we were unsure how it would work once we tried to get in all aspects of family living. With four young children though, it was so important for us to have the kitchen in this open plan layout, where we could all be a part of what was going on.’
