The world’s best furniture trade shows were either postponed, cancelled or migrated online last year. Founded in 1978 and held annually in London, Decorex International is one of Europe’s leading trade shows for luxury interior design that usually attracts over 400 exhibitors and 15,000 visitors each year.
It made its online debut on Nov 17 last year in a three-day virtual event with exhibitions, networking sessions and inspiring talks on some of the most pressing issues in interior design. Highlights included five 360-degree interactive curated spaces with the theme Happy Places by five of the most exciting interior practices in the region and, of course, a slew of innovative and inspiring new products. Here are nine of our picks.
/RE/PURPOSE COLLECTION — JENNIFER MANNERS
Made with 100 per cent recycled plastic, Jennifer Manners’ /re/ PURPOSE is a collection of uniquely plush rugs that are hand-knotted and luxurious yet the ideal eco-conscious solution to the need for hard-wearing, stain-resistant rugs. The soft but robust yarn that went into their assembly was made of discarded polyethene components processed with heat and water. Offering greater durability, its appearance is almost indistinguishable from wool. More pluses: it is resistant to spills and fading. Also, according to the brand, it can be cleaned with bleach.
