This Hawaiian island home is a global fusion of luxury and elegance, surrounded by breathtaking views

This stunning residence is one of the Hale ‘Alani collection of homes within the private club community of Kohanaiki, along Hawaii’s Kona coast. Once the pristine playground of Hawaiian royalty, the region is imbued in ancient and cultural history and framed by rugged mountains and the shimmering blue sea.

The home has three generous bedrooms with three bathrooms, along with a two-bedroom guest section. The architect was Khoi Le, Glazier Le Architects, and the home was built by Armstrong Builders, LLC.

The residence reflects interior designer Bridgid Coulter’s passion for exotic far-flung lands and her respect for environmental sensibilities, as well as her understanding of lifestyle nuances. Bridgid says the home was designed as a model residence for Kohanaiki, tapping into a demographic of eclectic world travellers, people who enjoy family life, simplicity, and those who indulge in life’s little luxuries. “I conceptualised the interiors to be relaxed and chic, with a global artistic influence,” she says.

Inside the home, the sweet fragrance of tropical blooms drifts on a balmy afternoon breeze. It’s roomy and deliciously opulent, a contemporary Hawaiian-style abode designed with an open plan. There are several bedroom wings that connect private and public spaces, so there’s space for a growing family to share. Yet there’s also a feeling of intimacy; it’s cosy and relaxed, and of course there are ample places to entertain.
