A Story Of Romance

Twelve years ago, when Marie-Caroline was in search of a peaceful haven, she visited an 18th-century farm in the small town of Tresses, near Bordeaux. It was a revelation.

It was a Friday, July 13; I said yes right away,” she says. “I hadn’t sold my previous house yet and had no idea how I was going to do it. I didn’t even take the time to tell my husband!” Today, the house itself tells the story with a happy ending.

“The interior décor was in the style of the 1970s, a look that I did not like at all, and I could tell that the children didn’t like it either. I kept telling them stories about the house to make it more attractive. This house offered me plenty; everything is dreamlike here.” Today nothing remains that tells what the house looked like at the time of purchase, and the tales have gained the upper hand.
