Everyone's idea of comfortable and pleasing space is different, but for this household of four, a modern and elegant dwelling that's practical and easy to maintain was the goal. To meet this brief, their design team from Richfield Integrated comprising Design Manager Veronica Laborte and Project Manager Sean Lee decided a full-scale overhaul for the 1,290sq ft unit would be needed. The flat was previously dim with wood cabinetry and doors in varying tones of orange, dated fixtures as well as mismatched floor tiles which created a disjointed appearance. To remedy this, the duo's mood board consisted of contemporary designs, marble textures, and light tones for a clean and fresh appearance, keeping in mind that the overall aesthetic would have to appeal to a wide range of preferences and ages.

Since they'd be starting from scratch, the team took the opportunity to bump up storage all throughout the home-a practical move in anticipation of future needs. Keeping these built-in sans hardware in neutral and light tones avoids drawing attention to these pieces, making them look almost like walls instead of bulky cabinetry.
