Most readers of this magazine would know how to invest in Indian stocks. However, when it comes to investing overseas, the know-how is still not widespread. Here is a short introduction to the options available to you for investing in overseas equity.
Through foreign brokers
You can invest in foreign companies by opening an account with a foreign broker, such as Interactive Brokers, Saxo Bank, etc. You can approach them directly or through Indian fintech companies or brokers that have tie-ups with them, such as ICICI Direct, Kotak Securities and HDFC Securities. For more information, you can visit the websites of Indian brokers that provide the overseas-trading facility.
