A MEASURE OF MAGIC

‘Petra by night’ is a spectacle attended by thousands of tourists every week. Looking for an original composition, I decided to climb the opposite wall to overlook the famous facade of The Treasury and the gathering at its feet. My shadow looked to me like that of a giant genie observing the glowing scene.

Bedouin enjoy the freedom of the desert and good sage tea under the stars in Wadi Rum, Jordan. One flash off the camera (to the left) fired at the end of a long exposure. The moving stars were stacked together in post-processing using many later frames to gain that ‘asteroid’ feel.
