IT’S NO HIDDEN SECRET that the reigning CEO of Longines, Matthias Breschan is a watch lover and his hand at re-tuning the brand’s collections has led to increased attention from watch enthusiasts – the latest introduction of the Longines HydroConquest with GMT complication is no exception.
Launched in 2007, the HydroConquest was Longines’ answer to the modern dive watch, featuring 300-metre water resistance and accessible prices. Over the years, heritage-inspired models like the Legend Diver or Skin Diver joined the collection, but unlike other tool watches which eventually received GMT functionality, Longines never had one until today and we are glad that they took the time to get it just right: with its redesigned 41mm case, bracelet and new anti-magnetic in-house (technically accurate since ETA reserves a department entirely for Longines) calibre L844.5 with an independently adjustable local 12-hour hand.
