Patricia Ellis is a retired U.S. government employee who spent 35 years in law enforcement and worked all over the United States and in Europe. Her career includes work in the Department of Defense and the Department of Justice. She was one of the first African American Intelligence Analysts in El Paso, Texas. Ellis finished her career working as an investigator for the Department of Education. Currently residing in Texas, she describes herself as a high energy motivational speaker and diversity trainer. She is the founder of Diversity Incorporated, an organization dedicated to providing quality service in advocating for parental rights in educational services and assisting veterans in obtaining disability benefits. Undoubtedly, she wears many hats.
Ellis provides presentations and workshops in elementary and secondary schools, government agencies, and private organizations in the United States and Europe. Her presentations are not only educational, but culturally sound -- they inspire, ignite, motivate, and challenge us to be great. The presentations are research-based and delivered with honesty and in a down-to-earth style.
I recently had the opportunity to chat with Ellis. She was getting ready for Christmas holidays, but she was able to accommodate me for this interview:
Lumbie Mlambo (LM): Tell me about your company Diversity Inc. What does it do? Why did you select the name?
