Obviously, getting out on the water is a great idea, but if you're happier on land, there are still fantastic walks near the sea, good beaches, and they're even building hot springs there (due to open in 2023)! If you do want to be on the sea, Wildlife Coast Cruises has some great offerings from Phillip Island and further away.
Wildlife Coast Cruises
We opted for a nine-hour tour cruising around Wilsons Promontory Marine National Park - it departed from Port Welshpool, a 90-minute drive from Phillip Island.
The cruise passes untouched islands, a couple of which even have some Second World War history. The rugged coastlines include amazing rock formations; one is called Skull Rock, and it really does look like a skull! There's always something to see, including quite a bit of wildlife; we saw white belly sea eagles and wallabies - and some very quick but friendly dolphins.
An after-lunch stopover at the pristine Refuge Cove gave us the chance to have a swim in the beautiful water and laze on the beach. I tried paddle-boarding and had a wander around the area. There's a delicious packed lunch on board, plus morning and afternoon tea.
