Are You Still Under The Assumption That If A Person Didn’t Pull Through High School, They’re Doomed For Life? Vasenta Selvanayagam Reveals The Story Of Singer-songwriter, Meliha Faisal And How She’s Winging Her Career Despite Not Completing Her Preliminary Studies.

Step Up!

Having interviewed hundreds of people over the past few years, one of the ways I use to read a talent roughly before shooting my questions away is through a simple handshake (it isn’t always 100 per cent accurate but usually, it turns out to be right). Imagine how surprised I was when I shook Meliha’s hand and found out that despite assuming that she was a rather quiet girl, she had one of the firmest handshakes and an interesting story tell too. It was only after speaking to her that I found out that just like me, she used the same tactic to find out about a person’s character if she has just met them. Meliha is a positive ball of energy who believes that she is able to achieve anything that her heart desires as long as she puts in enough effort and has the constant support of her family. She also believes that every girl should live her life to the fullest without having any regrets. Here’s what I found out about this 23-year-old fireball.

FEMALE: How did you discover your singing talent?

Meliha: “I started singing at a very young age. I picked up the guitar when I was 15 and never wanted to put it back down. I taught myself how to play it, sing and write songs. From then on, everything unravelled naturally. I knew from young that music was my ‘thing’ and so, I went down that path.”

F: Where do you get your inspiration from and what are your songs usually about?
