Planning and pulling a wedding together can be as tough for celebs, like bubbly YES 933FM deejay, producer and presenter Siau Jiahui, as it is for us regular folks. She tells us how she did it.
I Finally Hired A Planner.
Trying to do it all by myself on top of my full-time job just got to be too overwhelming. Work consumed almost all of my weekend waking hours. In the evenings, I would dash to different hotels to check out venues and gather information.
On weekdays after work, I looked through brides' magazines and Pinterest for ideas. When I realised I seriously needed help with liaising with vendors and pulling everything together, I engaged a wedding planner.
It was the best decision ever. All I had to do after that was to check on the progress and make sure everything was in order.
I Got My Husband To Help Out.
He picked out his own suit, planned the honeymoon and did the paperwork for our new home. I'm glad we delegated duties according to our strengths.
For instance, he's better at planning trips while I hate doing that. I have an eye for aesthetics, so I focused on how our wedding celebration would stand out. Lastly, he's a pro at handling the money bits – and I am not!
I Decided To Honour Some Traditions.
The most difficult part was trying to strike a balance between having a traditional ceremony and a hassle-free celebration.
