BASE Entertainment Singapore brought grand illusionist and escapologist Paul Cosentino to Singapore to perform in a grand-scale production, Cosentino: Anything is Possible, that wowed the audiences over more than a week from August 17 till August 27. The viewers were left breathless by the end of the show that was equal parts spell-binding and nail-biting and one hundred per cent pure entertainment. There was something for everyone as Cosentino ran the gamut from close-up card tricks to levitations and the classic assistant-sawed-in-half with a twist, to death-defying stunts, featuring him getting out of a straitjacket and picking several locks with two minutes to spare before being hacked to death by a giant slicer. He even made an underwater escape. The sold-out show attracted audiences from all over and of all ages.

Life wasn’t always this glitzy for the magic star, however, as he had to struggle hard to get to this position. An incredibly inspirational figure, he was first motivated to try magic as a 12-year-old struggling with a disability that made him unable to speak, read or write. He is the first Australian magician to make it commercially. Here are a few excerpts from an hour-long conversation India Se had with the spell-binding magician.
